Testing & Trials

Determining the right technology solution starts with being able to validate equipment capability and viability for a given application. To assist with this process, our pilot facilities are set up to provide initial proof-of-principle testing that helps determine whether our technology can add value in your application. Our objective is to simulate your desired process on the exact materials you intend using and assess the ability of our technology to deliver results.  Our trial and testing capabilities include:

Rotary:

  • Pilot equipment to demonstrate capabilities of 20 kHz, 30 kHz, and 40 kHz platforms
  • Ability to simulate process conditions at speeds up to 1000 fpm with small, handsheet size samples
  • Hundreds of anvil patterns to choose from and help optimize results
  • Equipment for tensile/elongation testing and vacuum pressure testing to assess process performance
  • Optical microscopy equipment to help determine flow characteristics within the materials
  • A high-speed pilot line for continuous web applications with the following capabilities:
    • 2,000 fpm maximum line speed
    • Platform capable of incorporating up to two bonder designs simultaneously
    • Web handling that includes two driven unwinds, vertical folding, driven nips, web guides and tension-controlled winder
    • Process rolls of material up to 36″ diameter and 12″ wide

Nozzle:

  • Pilot equipment to demonstrate 20 kHz and 40 kHz nozzle systems
  • Spray chamber to simulate process conditions and collect flow-rate data
  • Particle-size analyzer to quantitatively determine effects of ultrasonic technology on spray performance
